Her Late Majesty's 100th Birthday!

21st April, 2026

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Queen Elizabeth II, who was Patron of the Royal Variety Charity for 70 years, our Chairman, Giles Cooper OBE, along with our wonderful support staff, Kirsty, Victoria and Peter, were honoured to attend a reception held by our sole Patron, HM The King, at Buckingham Palace today.

Her late Majesty attended the Royal Variety Performance an incredible 39 times during her record reign, and just like The King, always made it clear how much she enjoyed entertainment herself and also how much she valued the contribution that the entertainment industry makes to all our lives

The Trustees of the Royal Variety wanted to acknowledge and reward the outstanding efforts recently of Kirsty Bristow, Peter Hinton and Victoria Bond.

> Kirsty Bristow, for her outstanding work in implementing numerous charity-wide policies and governing processes, together with resolving a variety of complex HR issues.

> Peter Hinton, for his exemplary efforts in overhauling our entire grants and admission systems, not least the setting up of our new mental health sub-committee.

> Victoria Bond, for achieving not one, but two years’ worth of record profits from the Royal Variety Performance!

The event was a fitting celebration of Her Late Majesty's wonderful reign and her Patronage of so many charities, not least the Royal Variety Charity.
